OSU - Oklahoma City, located in the heart of Oklahoma City, is looking for a Associate Vice President Academic Affairs

 

Job Summary:

 

 

Assists the Vice President of Academic Affairs, OSU-Oklahoma City’s Chief Academic Officer, in providing leadership of academic programs and services, as well as having primary responsibility for certain academic functions. Will assist in the development and interpretation of academic policies and procedures and will serve as a collaborative member of the Academic Affairs Leadership Team.

 

Salary:  Commensurate with experience



 

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

 

 

  1. Supervise the Library, Institutional Effectiveness, Career Technology Outreach and Concurrent Enrollment, and the Cowboy Quality e-Learning Center.

  2. Supervise the provision of instructional technology and distance education.

  3. Supervise the submission and oversight of selected federal and local grants, including the Federal Perkins grant.

  4. Assist the Director of Faculty Development in organizing professional development activities for faculty members, including the fall and spring in-service programs.

  5. Organize the publication of the Committee Handbook, the Faculty Handbook, and the Adjunct Faculty Handbook.

  6. Perform essential functions supporting HLC compliance.

  7. Work with the office of Business & Industry Relations to coordinate academic program advisory board meetings and serve as liaison between Academic Affairs and the Business & Industry Office.

  8. Serve as Chapter Administrator for the Alpha Pi Nu chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.

  9. Coordinate application and review processes for All-USA Community College Academic Team and All-Oklahoma Academic Team nominations.

  10. Assist in grant identification and development.

  11. Coordinate process for assigning memberships for campus committees.

  12. Maintains working knowledge of Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education policies and processes.

  13. Represent the institution in matters of academic-related functions as directed by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

  14. Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Academic Affairs and/or the campus President.

Requirements


Education:

    Master's Degree in Education or Relevant Degree  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Ph.D. / Ed.D. in Education or Relevant degree.
  • Experience working with grant operations
  • Experience working with instructional technology

 


 

Work Experience:


  • Minimum of two years relevant faculty experience in higher education teaching  
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory work, including but not limited to responsibilities of budgets, supervision, contract training, and project development.

    • High degree of integrity; ability to work in a sensitive, highly confidential and professional environment
    • Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to a multicultural environment in an effort to work and communicate effectively with all students, faculty, staff and community partners.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to: office computers, fax machines, scanners, internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Strong leadership skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong knowledge of current issues and future directions in higher education.
    • Ability to establish priorities and deal with numerous projects simultaneously.
    • Strong decision-making and problem solving skills.
    • Excellent work ethic, a high energy level and initiative; high standards of professional ethics and integrity.
    • Proficient technology skills; ability to produce professional reports and documents.
    • Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU brand with positivity and professionalism
    • Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior

     

  

Working Conditions:

 

Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone and via email.
