Job Description

Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners and defense, space and security systems. We are engineers and technicians. Skilled scientists and thinkers. Bold innovators and dreamers. We all work together to do amazing things.

Strike, Surveillance and Mobility (SSM) is one of the world’s largest providers of military airpower, serving the United States and allied nations, while continuing to expand globally with steady growth in international sales. SSM encompasses a portfolio of strike-fighter, surveillance and mobility platforms, including the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, EA-18G Growler, F-15 Eagle, P-8 and executive fleet aircraft. The SSM team is also responsible for the modernization and modification of several U.S. Department of Defense and international aircraft programs, including various surveillance and reconnaissance, head of state and bomber aircraft.

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mission Systems Capability is seeking talented and motivated students for the below internship positions:

For the Battle Management, Displays, and Mission Planning Team (BDMP), the intern will support tasks across the full development lifecycle including design, development, test, documentation, and sustainment for a product line architecture and code baseline for surveillance aircraft platforms that enable air superiority by detecting, identifying, tracking airborne threats and providing operators intuitive battle management controls.

For the Sensor Fusion Team the intern will support development and maintenance of a complex set of software applications responsible for mission critical functionality, which is divided into two main components: Tracking and Surveillance. The Tracking component is responsible for onboard and offboard report-track association and track-track correlation/fusion/identification functions, track manager functions, Radar IFF and Data Link processing, as well as ESM processing and related passive tracking functions. The Surveillance component interfaces with the onboard sensors, and is responsible for sending non-overlapping sector controls to the onboard sensors based on user initiated and automatic/periodic requests. This product line is maintained across multiple platforms, OS environments and customers. Responsibilities may include: Generating interfaces and designs for the software product line while ensuring reusability in multiple domains and applications; developing, maintaining, and integrating software into multiple environments/platforms while conforming to each set of government standards; and using a disciplined process driven approach for the design, development, operation, maintenance, and documentation of software components and computing systems.

The students selected for these internship positions will work in a collaborative environment and utilize modern object oriented computer programming techniques and some of the latest software development tools.
