The basic function of the Driver at Firestone Trucking, Inc. is preform all duties assigned in the realm of oil field services. Including, but not limited to: Lease water hauling, hauling mud to locations, cleaning tanks, fresh water hauling, and gauging tanks, etc. The Driver reports directly to and is fully accountable to the Operations Manager. However, the principal point of contact between the Driver and the office is the Dispatcher who schedules the Driver’s day/loads and handles any problems the Driver encounters. The Driver is expected to: Operate the vehicle in a safe manner, abiding by laws, regulations, and customer rules. Follow the schedule defined by the Dispatcher. Ensure all inspections are made and paperwork is completed and submitted daily per Operating Procedures and good work practices in compliance with applicable laws and statutes. Take care of company tools, vehicles and equipment; report any necessary repairs/maintenance or lost tools/equipment immediately; do not operate any equipment in a manner which will cause damage or which is outside the recommended use or operation of the equipment. Complete all assigned loads daily. Keep accurate records manifests and customer load tickets and turn them in daily. Learn the location of assigned wells/leases in a reasonable time. Learn the process for each job which is expected of drivers within a reasonable time. Perform any other task as may be assigned from time to time by the Dispatcher or Operations Manager. To perform in this position effectively an individual should meet the following requirements: Have good driving record and basic mechanical skills; Understand and be comfortable with contacting Dispatch using email, with using internet navigation, and GPS; Have a Class A CDL and at least 2 years’ experience; Have a clean driving record; Have a good knowledge of trucks; Be safety-conscious; including having knowledge of all PPE required for the job. Be able to work a non-standard shift outside the normal working hours. The Driver’s performance shall be measured by these factors: • Attendance is 100%. • Willingness to work overtime. • Revenue dollars generated. • No Accidents. • No damage to company tools, equipment, or trucks. • Paperwork is filed daily. • No violations of laws/regulations/rules. Drivers must be able to read, write, and communicate in English as all forms are in English and customers and Dispatchers speak English. Drivers must good driving and mechanical skills. To be effective in this position an individual must be able to follow direction completely and fulfill requests. In addition, this job requires a great deal of overtime on a continuous basis on 12-hour shifts. This is a mentally challenging job. Drivers must have full range of body movement and must be able to sit for long periods throughout the day. A Good sense of hearing and vision are important for safety reasons and the Driver must have good dexterity. Good color vision is also required as certain customer sites may use color-coded systems. This position will usually be in an air conditioned vehicle on marginal roads; however, as there are many sites, travel with exposure to all types of weather will be required. This individual must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and apply torque when connecting/disconnecting fittings. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
