BASIC PURPOSE: Commission Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) compression, drying, dispensing, and control equipment for new and upgrade CNG stations.  Commission management includes; managing and reviewing all phases of project execution, managing third party vendors and commissioning agents, scheduling operations support for commissioning, providing training for AHJ’s and owners, and preparing and submitting final commissioning closeout documentation.  Other requirements including assisting construction management, review project schedule, review project budget, review construction drawings, to provide input to the other Design Build Services team.



  • Safely manage multiple commissioning/ upgrade projects simultaneously. 
  • Duties include managing and scheduling third party commissioning vendors, Operations and Maintenance personnel, and Automation personnel involved in the commissioning process, complete and verify final terminations of all wiring, verify automation inputs and outputs, check all testing documentation to verify completeness and compliance. 
  • Assisting engineering with construction project permitting, review and provide feedback to construction drawings, oversee contractor work in regards to commissioning, validate that contractors build to code, permit requirements, drawings and company's best interests, communicate job status and progress, lead commissioning team at the end of construction, hand off to Operations and Maintenance staff, and provide input needed to complete as-built drawings.
  • Commission new CNG Stations / Upgrades including, installation of automation equipment and conductors. Troubleshoot automation equipment at operating stations, support installation of new automation equipment where required.
  • This position requires regular involvement with CNG stations which are geographically dispersed and require overnight travel up to 75%.
  • Work in a manner consistent with company mission and values.
  • Offer suggestions and support efforts to improve station design and construction. 
  • Prepare reports during and after construction commissioning’s/ upgrades that are complete which includes recommendations to reduce construction/ commissioning costs and improve quality.



  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience:
    • 3+ experience interpreting construction drawings, control drawings and equipment shop drawings.
    • 3+ experience working with local permitting agencies and inspectors.
    • 3+ experience with industrial construction or construction project management.
    • 3+ experience with Microsoft Office products.
    • 5+ experience coordinating the installation of commercial and industrial electrical equipment including switchgear, motor control centers, automation control systems, and other electrical equipment.



  • Skills:
    • Hard skills: MS Office required; basic accounting, ability to interpret construction plans, knowledge of construction processes or procedures, construction project management software solutions. 
    • Soft Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills to meet critical deadlines, strong work ethic, good written and verbal communication, flexibility to adapt to new situations or challenges, must work well under moderate stress and as a team player.
  • Typical Physical Demands:
  • Requires prolonged standing, sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
