Job Function:

The Coordinator of Early Settlement Mediation works under the supervision of the Director to support the operational activities and professional service coordination for the Oklahoma County Early Settlement Mediation program. This position is responsible for case management, tracking, organizing and scheduling mediations that are accomplished through a network of qualified community volunteers and service providers.   

 

Pay Rate: 

$15.00 hourly

Essential Job Functions: 

 

1.      Coordinate mediation services under the direction of the program director.

2.      Develop relationships with community volunteers and organizers.

3.      Attend training and obtain/maintain certification in basic and family mediation.

4.      Manage the scheduling of mediation sessions and coordinate volunteer mediator assignments.

5.      Track, develop, maintain and report monthly/annual program statistics for reporting to the State Director of Dispute Resolution and Supervisor, OSU-OKC.

6.      Completes all mandatory training and participates in a minimum of two professional development opportunities each year.

7.      Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education:

High School diploma with qualified experience or Associates Degree in counseling, public service, justice and/or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience:

  • 2 – 5 years’ experience in professional program support, operational reporting and case management.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in support of a public program.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in public service, justice and or work experience in supporting conflict resolution programs preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated organizational ability and experience in case management.
  • Ability to prioritize, resolve issues, multi-task, and maintain schedules and deadlines.
  • Candidate must be an active listener and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Evidences a history of demonstrating the ethical and professional behavior.
  • Ability to self-manage and identify areas of need and complete day-to-day activities.
  • Excellent and proven experience working with Microsoft Office suite including Excel.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to ensure office coverage during volume periods including full day Monday’s and part-time mornings Tuesday – Thursday weekly.
  • Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, and via email. 
  • Local travel may be required.
  • Must have a current Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to handle a high volume of phone calls. emails and in-person inquiries.
  • Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be able to drive to and from various other locations. 
  • Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking, listening and computer usage.
