Job Description

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a key Boeing Second Century Enterprise Systems (2CES) project that will be deployed across both Defence and Commercial Business Areas. The Project scope includes Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain and Inventory Management, Programme Management and is structured as Value Streams. The ERP solution is SAP which will be delivered over a period spanning 2018 – 2021.


In this high profile position the ERP Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating BDUK activities ensuring the business is prepared for ERP implementation working with and alongside the Value Stream Global Process Owners (US based) in addition to Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) from relevant UK & US functions across business units.

Responsibilities include:


• Coordination of BDUK Value Stream activity to ensure a standard approach, solution adoption and reporting.

• Maintain an overall BDUK Value Stream schedule, reporting risks and agreeing mitigations with both the US project team and the Steering Committee.

• Help coordinate and maintain business engagement across the Value Streams through the project lifecycle.

• Ensure the Value Streams address UK / EU legislative requirements.

• Work with the Value Stream SMEs to ensure the solution supports the BDUK business model. This includes fit / gap design analysis, solution testing and data migration validation.

• Work with the SMEs to confirm the solution delivers full access to the BDUK data set.

• Establish a coordinated training approach by leveraging project source material and, where necessary, tailoring to reflect BDUK’s operating model.

• Oversee the development of use case criteria to validate each Value Stream, and the overall ERP solution, against the BDUK business model.

• Assess and monitor Value Stream implementations to ensure new application functionality, and any necessary short-term legacy system integrations, maintain BDUK operational continuity.

• Help identify productivity opportunities offered by the solution and work with the Steering Committee to ensure these are fully exploited and applied within BDUK.

• Assess the business impact of the solution and work with relevant Change Management and Communication representatives to prepare BDUK for the forthcoming change.

• Develop and build integrated process and solution knowledge by establishing Value Stream Super Users and Business Partners who will support the sustainment of the BDUK ERP System and associated processes.

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing complex projects and working with cross functional multi-disciplined teams. Your experience will enable you to demonstrate a track record of previous successes which would include examples of collaborative working and examples of working in a multi-national team. Broad business experience in the areas below will be expected.

o Finance, Supply Chain Management and Commercial knowledge.

o Strong understanding of current BDUK processes and tools.

o Business change management experience.

• Previous experience in deployment of ERP type systems would be desirable as would SAP module knowledge (MM, SD, FI, CO, PS, QM, EWM, PP).

• You will have an appropriate academic education that underpins you’re working experiences. Qualifications in a Project / Change Management discipline would be desirable.
