  1. I.                   PURPOSE AND MISSION:  
  • The Environmental, Health, and Safety Supervisor develops, administers, and implements company wide occupational safety, environmental, and health programs.
  • The Safety Supervisor will be responsible for developing and conducting all environmental, health, and safety training. 
  • The Safety Supervisor is responsible for interfacing with external inspectors and regulatory officials.
 
  1. II.                EXPECTATIONS:
  • The Safety Supervisor will be the face of safety and ensure that all proper safety and health procedures are followed throughout Gemini.
  • The Safety Supervisor will conduct themselves in a professional manner and be willing to work with all levels of the employee workforce on safety related matters. 
  • The Safety Supervisor will interface with management to ensure that all safety policies and requirements are followed at Gemini.

  1. III.             AUTHORITY:

The Safety Supervisor is granted the necessary authority to manage, direct and administer the operations of Gemini Industries, Inc. under the control of this position.  This authority includes, but may not be limited to:

  • Requesting relevant information from any team member.
  • Ability to take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position, so long as it is consistent with established company policy and sound business judgment.
 
  1. IV.             DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, design, develop, implement, and evaluate departmental occupational safety, environmental, and health programs.
  • Assist in designing programs to control, eliminate, and prevent injury caused by chemical, physical, or ergonomic factors
  • Provide regulatory oversight, and counsel to management and other employee groups on a broad range of occupational safety issues and decisions.
  • Coordinate the activities of all regulatory programs and processes.
  • Provide guidance to a wide variety of environmental, health, and safety topics.
  • Direct and review the analysis of accident and injury data, identifying the needs for new or modified safety programs.
  • Develop and conduct environmental, health, & safety training for various departments and divisions.
  • Conduct inspection, investigations, and occupational safety activities on various facilities and processes.
  • Research occupational safety information to ensure the best available methods and equipment are adopted to minimize the hazards in the work place.
  • Periodically act as a team leader on special projects.

Requirements

V.         QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field
  • Experience: Entry level to two years of related experience.
  • Skills/Knowledge: The Safety Supervisor must:

-Have a working knowledge of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration’s (OSHA) regulations and requirements. 

-Be able to plan, design, develop, implement, and evaluate departmental occupational safety programs.

-Be able to provide advice, and counsel to management and other employee groups on a broad range of occupational safety issues and decisions.

-Be able to develop and implement safety programs to conform to industry standards and federal, state, and local regulations. 

-Be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside regulatory officials.

  • Possess a high work ethic, moral and personal integrity and honesty.
  • Exemplify professionalism in personal appearance, manner and dress according to acceptable standards set by the company.
  • Be mature, flexible and self-motivated.
