NEWS AND INFORMATION CENTER
(FT) DIGITAL ENTERPRISE PRODUCER
The Oklahoman is seeking an experienced digital journalist with a passion for enterprise reporting and who embraces new ways to reach our digital audience.
This person will help spearhead newsroom innovation and provide training on digital story-telling across all user platforms. This includes alternative story-telling methods, such as data visualization graphics, multi-media presentations or audience engagement efforts, such as polls, surveys or hosting online chats with readers.
The ideal candidate should be able to create alternative forms of storytelling that cater to our online readers. These can be infographics, animations, mapping and interactives.
The applicant should be proficient in data-visualization tools like Carto, Google Charts and Google Sheets. Experience with digital tools like Canva, Piktochart or Photoshop are ideal.
This person should be comfortable with HTML basics, skilled on social media and be familiar with Word Press or other similar content management systems.
The digital enterprise producer will work with the Live-Enterprise Director, audience development and other departments to ensure the newsroom is in alignment with our company-wide digital strategy. The ability to be creative and collaborative with coworkers across the newsroom is crucial.
The applicant needs to be a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to conceptualize and execute compelling story ideas. Strong news judgment and time-management skills are a must.
Audio and video editing skills are a plus. Knowledge of Final Cut, Premier Pro and After Effects is beneficial as is comfort working with Google Analytics.
Competence in data-based journalism is also a plus.
