Position Description:
The information security analyst is a member of the information security team and works closely with the other members of the team, the business, and other IT staff to develop and manage security for one or more IT functional area (e.g., data, systems, network, and/or applications) across the enterprise.

The candidate will be able to effectively analyze all relevant cybersecurity event data and other information sources for suspicious network traffic, attack indicators and potential security breaches; produce reports, assist in coordination during incidents.

Key-Result Areas                                 
•  Work as part of a team to maintain security and integrity of corporate data and IT systems through activities including:
•  SIEM, Vulnerability Scanning, Endpoint Detection and Response, Identity Management, PKI, Email Filtering
•  Manage and maintain multiple security solutions and appliances
•  Work collaboratively with other security personnel to monitor security vulnerability intelligence, identify, analyze and communicate the impact of new security vulnerabilities with impacted users
•  Prepare status reports on new and ongoing security vulnerability investigations to keep management informed about security issues that may affect the company or its customers
•  Assist in the coordination and completion of information security operations documentation
•  Work with information security leadership to develop strategies and plans to enforce security requirements and address identified risks
•  Report to management concerning residual risk, vulnerabilities and other security exposures, including misuse of information assets and noncompliance
•  Play an advisory role in application development or acquisition projects to assess security requirements and controls and to ensure that security controls are implemented as planned
•  Collaborate on critical IT projects to ensure that security issues are addressed throughout the project life cycle
•  Work with IT department and members of the information security team to identify, select and implement technical controls
•  Research, evaluate, and recommend information-security-related hardware and software, including developing business cases for security investments of current and new technologies
•  Provide direct support to the business and IT staff for security related issues.
•  Educate IT and the business about security policies and consults on security issues regarding user built/managed systems
•  Represent the security needs of the organization by providing expertise and assistance in all IT projects with regard to security issues
•  Maintain an awareness of security and control issues in emerging technologies
•  Respond to escalated support tickets to resolve security related issues; this may involve occasional out of hours work, when necessary
•  Utilize interpersonal and business skills to effectively communicate with management, clients, and peers
•  Perform other duties as assigned


Position Requirements:
Educational Background:
•  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other equivalent degree or experience
•  Security and/or Audit certifications (CISSP, CISM, GSEC, CEH, OSCP, etc.)

Professional Experience:
•  Three to five years of IT or network security experience
•  Information Security Management experience
•  IT Technical Writing experience

Knowledge:
•  Knowledge of and experience with multiple technologies such as SIEM, Vulnerability Scanning, Endpoint Detection and Response, Identity Management, PKI, Email Filtering
•  Knowledge of the fundamentals of project management, and experience with creating and managing project plans, including budgeting and resource allocation
•  Proficiency in performing risk, business impact, control and vulnerability assessments using manual and automated tools
•  Strong understanding of business applications, including financial systems
•  Excellent technical knowledge of mainstream operating systems and a wide range of security technologies, such as network security appliances, identity and access management (IAM) systems, anti-malware solutions, and automated incident response tools
•  Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and the associated network protocols and concepts
•  Knowledge of common regulatory, audit and compliance requirements (FFIEC-CAT, GLBA, FDIC, HIPPA, etc.)

Skills:
Mandatory Requirements
•  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to enable effective security incident and problem resolution
•  Proven ability to work under stress in emergencies, with the flexibility to handle multiple high-pressure situations simultaneously
•  Ability to work well under minimal supervision
•  Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with a broad range of people and roles, including vendors and IT-business personnel
•  Strong written and verbal communication skills
•  Strong customer/client focus, with the ability to manage expectations appropriately, provide a superior customer/client experience and build long-term relationships

Preferred Qualifications
•  Enterprise security monitoring activities
•  Experience in incident management and/or computer forensics
•  Experience in application and system development
•  Implementation of enterprise security software solutions
