OSU – Oklahoma City, located in the heart of Oklahoma City, islooking for a Manager of Testing and Assessment

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Manager of Testing and Assessment is responsible for coordinating and assessing all activities associated with the Testing department. In addition, this position is responsible for the training and supervision of office support staff. The Manager  serves as a point of contact for various external exam-vendor partners, ensuring adherence various exam guidelines This position works collaboratively with faculty/adjunct faculty and staff from campus departments such as Institutional Research and Reporting, Academic Advisement, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Office of the Registrar/Records, Office of Disability Services, as well as academic departments

 

 

Rate of Pay:

 

$15.29 per hour

 

 

 

 

Essential Job Functions: 

 

1. Manage the Testing and Assessment Center by providing direct supervision for classified personnel. Supervisory responsibilities include, but are not limited to, support staff training and ongoing performance management.

2. Develop and monitor statistical reports and data to enhance testing strategies, yield management and operational efficiency.

3. Maintain a familiarity with current academic policies, procedures, and processes.

4. Maintain a familiarity with Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education policies and procedures related to  placement testing.

5. Maintain confidentiality of student records and observe policies related to student privacy (FERPA).

6. Oversees intuitional compliance with various external exam-vendor partners.

7. Responsible for maintaining exam security and integrity of the testing environment.

8. Responsible for updating and maintaining an adequate inventory of testing forms, flyers, and brochures.

9. Coordinates the development and implementation of testing program services for the University.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience in higher education, especially in areas related to testing.
  • Experience working with databases

 

 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum of three years progressively responsible work experience in a related field or line of work.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer service rich environment.
  • Experience working in both collaborative/team environments and in positions that require individualized work with minimal supervision

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to use good professional judgment and lead/supervise others.
  • Ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information, give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately. Ability to train and direct others and provide complex instructions is essential.
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills required.
  • Accurate typing/data entry skills and demonstrated ability to work with attention to detail.
  • Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Demonstrated coordination, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Must be adaptable to performing under moderate levels of stress, imposed by frequent deadlines, peak workloads and public/student contact.
  • Ability to work independently and also collaborate within a team environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Very strong experience working with office technologies including but not limited to: office computers, scanners, internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to a multicultural environment in an effort to work and communicate effectively with all students, faculty, staff and testing partners.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Passion for assisting students with educational endeavors and representing the OSU brand with positivity and professionalism.
  • Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior

Working Conditions:  

 

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends in an often times busy and noisy environment.
  • Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone and via email. 

Physical Requirements:      

 

  • During peak testing periods must be able to handle high volume of phone calls, emails, and inquiries.

 

  • Duties require extended periods of sitting, standing, talking, listening and computer usage.

 

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
