Job Description

Boeing and NASA are building the world’s largest rocket for human exploration of deep space. The Space Launch System (SLS) provides a critical heavy-lift capability powering people and cargo beyond our moon and into deep space to enable diverse exploration, science and security missions. Boeing is the prime contractor for the design, development, test and production of the massive core stage, in-space stages, and the development of the avionics.

The SLS Core Stage is the major development effort in the Space Launch System, the nation's next human exploration launch vehicle. SLS is a significant step on our nation’s path toward the human exploration of deep space. It will define the direction of the U.S. Space Program for decades. The Space Launch System will be the largest launch vehicle ever produced, more capable even than the Saturn V rocket which took humans to the moon.

Boeing is in need of an experienced Manufacturing Operations Analyst that is able to develop and deploy industry
leading production system performance in a variety environments.

The Manufacturing Operations Analyst will be engaged in a highly team oriented, flexible work environment utilizing multiple skills to accomplish diverse task assignments. Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Support activities across multiple functions to resolve emergent issues in support of specific operations.
• Support the organization to implement operations strategies and plans.
• Facilitates complex group work sessions using standard tools and processes.
• Coordinates the operational aspects of and serves as liaison between project and team, finance, planning, scheduling, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and line management.
• Analyze and interpret shop performance data and provide input to management where appropriate.
• Participates as a key member of SLS Production Action Team (SPAC)
• Mans Operations Desk in support of SPAC and Shop Floor

Required Skills:
-This position requires the ability to obtain badging for NASA facility access.
-This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to NASA (DOT) random drug and alcohol testing.
-Willing to work any shift assigned.
-Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
-Understanding of Tool Control Systems.
-MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
-Ability to develop metrics.
-Must be able to respond to emergent events quickly and resolve them with limited resources.
-Must have a keen eye for safety.
-Familiarity with audit processes.
-Work in a team environment to drive change.

-Working knowledge of standard Lean tools and practices.
-Familiarity with standard problem solving tools and RCCA.  

-Previous experience with NASA and/or other aerospace products.

Work Authorization:
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Typical Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
