(PT) SPONSORSHIP COORDINATOR

 

The Newspapers in Education program (NIE) partners with Oklahomans to provide teachers and students educational resources through The Oklahoman newspaper.  Resources include access to the Print Replica and Digital Archives with articles dating back to 1901, fulfilling physical requests for newspapers, implementing statewide student contests, providing comprehensive curriculum inclusive of both lesson plans and student supplements, hosting teacher supply drives and issuing teacher grants.

Our program reaches nearly 30% of the total statewide student population by servicing over 193,000 Oklahoma students; we have a presence in all 77 counties and are in over 600 Oklahoma schools. Last school year, 70% of the schools that requested NIE resources were designated Title I (low income) schools. 

Requirements

The Sponsorship Coordinator position is vital to the success of our Newspapers in Education program. We are looking for someone who is passionate about serving educators, is reliable, consistent, and a quick learner. 

The ideal candidate for this position has experience managing business-to-business relationships in a cold calling environment, can provide excellent customer service to a wide variety of sponsors, exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills, and has experience initiating sponsorship requests and meeting sales goals.  Experience operating phones and intermediate Excel skills are required.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Make 75 – 100 cold calls per day incorporating key elements into every call.  SC is to maintain professionalism throughout every call and be a positive representative of the NIE program.
    • Turn in daily call sheets indicating the number of dials made, the number of contacts made and all sales slips and do not call slips and record daily sales in the NIE Tracker
    • Complete grant applications, donation requests and in-kind requests.
    • Follow up with potential sponsors using various methods of communication including but not limited to: phone calls, email correspondence, facsimile and the U.S. Postal Service
    • Make weekly collection calls on overdue sponsorship dollars

 

Compensation: $11.00 per hour + Cold Call Commission + 2% on Collections over 90 days
