Description:

 

This position is for a product manager in the Flight Deck Solutions Aviator Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) program within Digital Aviation. The Aviator team is seeking an individual with strong product and business experience in EFB products or services. The ideal candidate will have experience with mobile software, the pilot persona, performance data, and Quick Reference Handbook (QRH) checklists.  As a product manager, you will own all aspects of your product, from strategy to operational excellence. You will frequently work directly with your customers and partners to understand their needs from both a business and technical perspective. You will define and drive the product strategy and roadmap that will help us create the leading EFB solution in customer satisfaction, operational performance and market segment share. You will be responsible for building business models, driving a go-to-market plan, identifying bold bets to grow the business in current and adjacent markets, and representing your product to customers and executive leadership.

Aviator is seeking a product manager who can scale in perspective from strategic vision to tactical execution. Product management closely interacts with the software development teams where we define, develop, and ship new updates and features in periods measured in months. You will create and track metrics to define the success of your product and build data-based cases for your decisions. As a product manager, you will help develop marketing and sales programs to help reach new customers and scale your services. The role will provide significant opportunity to get your hands dirty in a wide range of different technologies, ranging from legacy technologies to some of the latest mobile and cloud technologies.

Strategic Objectives:

 

Influence the roadmap for our services such that we can meet the needs of our customers.

 

Identify and act upon opportunities that deliver customer value both near term and in the long-run.

 

Drive wide adoption and availability of Aviator.

 

Develop a strategic and tactical plan that drives additional awareness and uptake.

Specific Responsibilities:

 

Managing the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution.

 

Partner with software development and design teams to deliver on product roadmap.

 

Launching the vision, product strategy and roadmap for our products and working with key stakeholders to deliver on that vision, e.g. sales, partner teams, international leaders, etc.

 

Responsible for the go-to-market plan and enablement, working to insure that sales teams have what they need to be successful.

 

Develop campaigns to create awareness and increase adoption for the target markets and regions.

 

Establishing goals and reviewing metrics to identify opportunities and deliver success.

 

Research and identify new opportunities to innovate on behalf of our customers.

Education/Experience:

 

Bachelor’s degree and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 8 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Qualifications:

 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in the implementation of multiple product and development initiatives. It is preferred to have a background in software product management and be familiar with a variety of software development methodologies.

 

Previous experience software product management.

 

Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally.

 

Ability to analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and scope business requirements.

 

Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion.

 

Excellent speaking-listening-writing skills, attention to details, proactive self-starter.

 

Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads.

 

Ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions.
