Job Description

The Space Launch System has an opportunity for a Entry level Product Review Engineer with a strong Product Review background to support the SLS team at Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans. The position will support the site by coordinating nonconforming part dispositions, as well as cost savings initiatives and providing technical expertise.


As a member of the Product Review Engineering Team, this individual’s primary responsibility will be to resolve technical issues and support day-to-day operations of the center in terms of quality, on-time delivery and cost performance. The successful candidate will have a proven record of technical leadership, sound judgment, flexibility, innovation, and team building skills. The candidate must be a self-starter, able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with the ability to transition between different work types and roles.


It is essential that the candidate has the ability to communicate effectively with Program Management, Engineers, Factory, Operations Management, and suppliers. The candidate must have a positive attitude and enjoy the challenge of developing a new product, using new processes, in a unique and challenging environment.

Typical Education/Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.


This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to NASA (DOT) random drug and alcohol testing.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility - U.S. Citizenship Required.
Basic Qualifications / Required Skills:
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in an Engineering classification from an accredited course of study
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to obtain MRB (Materials Review Board) authority related to aerospace structures & systems;
  • Space Launch Vehicle Design & Manufacturing experience.
