Job Description

The Boeing Company has an opening for a Program Manger of B-1 Sustainment Software Blocks. B-1 Sustaining Software Blocks are each multi-year, cost type contracts; generally valued in excess of $50M; and including updates to multiple B-1 Operational Flight Programs developed by both Boeing and supplier teams. There are usually at least two Sustaining Software Blocks in work at any given time, one in the proposal or early stages of development and one late in the development lifecycle or delivery and fielding phase.


Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinating software requirements with the B-1 System Program Office to support proposal development, managing the establishment of a program management baseline after contract award, and management of program execution through design, development, test, and delivery
  • Budget, schedule, and technical performance on these projects and formal EVM reporting is required
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with our primary B-1 Customer, the B-1 System Program Office at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City plus Air Force customers, suppliers, and other Boeing business units

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required):

 

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

  • Experience leading multi-disciplined teams (specifically with projects on military aircraft or spacecraft) 
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) (preferably to manage technical, cost, and schedule performance)
  • Experience with Program Management
  • Must be able to program management knowledge and experience to investigate and respond to technical support requests from the customer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Experience with the implementation and use of Program Management Best Practices
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team
  • Familiar with real-time embedded flight software development and test, and have a good understanding of software development lifecycle models.
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, set operational goals, and provide management for the Boeing and Supplier product teams developing the individual software products that comprise a sustainment block


The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and will be responsible for the development and presentation of briefings and presentations to both Boeing and Air Force senior leaders.
