  • Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) is based in Bangalore, India and is engaged in the development and support of advanced aerospace and aviation technologies, products, and services. IT & DA (Information Technology & Data Analytics) is a large and critical component of the work-streams within BIETC.
  • As the IT&DA Quality Leader this person will be the Quality champion for the entire IT&DA portfolio within BIETC organization ensuring production of high quality products and services and also strive to achieve First Time Quality every time.
  • The selected candidate will work directly with the IT&DA Leaders in US having projects in BIETC as well as India based Managers and teams to establish a robust Quality Management System (QMS) across all IT&DA projects executed from BIETC. This will involve:
    • Detailed Assessment of existing SDLC (Plan/Build/Run) processes in Boeing US as well as the strategic roadmap towards Agile and Pivotal processes. Experience on Pair/Extreme Programing cultures is a plus.
    • Given the rapid growth planned for the IT&DA portfolio within BIETC, setup the Quality organization and charter here in conjunction with India/US Managers. This will include team structure (project SQAs), CONOPS etc.
    • Establish appropriate Quality metrics and reporting framework for all categories of IT&DA projects within BIETC. This will include setting up the SEPG baseline and continuous improvement based on that.
    • Put together and execute strategic plan to drive towards CMM Level 3 within 1 year and Level 5 within 2 years
    • Own end to end responsibility of established Quality metrics for all deliverables across all IT&DA projects from BIETC and periodic reporting back to respective stake-holders in US including senior leadership
    • Responsible for  First Time Quality on all aspects of Delivery Operations
    • Responsible for ITIL/Service Management for all IT Infrastructure Operations type projects from BIETC
  • The selected candidate will be committed and engaged, driving continuous improvement of quality processes and always focusing on supporting the teams to deliver competitive products with high quality.
  • Leads Quality reviews of incoming SoWs and customer requirements to develop appropriate quality assurance strategies, plans and tests for software products, processes and services ensuring early quality involvement in program development.
  • Actively lead quality certification, support audit activities and collaborate with other Boeing quality focals and external consultants to successfully achieve quality certification objectives of the organization within stipulated timeframe.
  • Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by conducting quality assessments/audits,  gathering information to monitor appropriate quality metrics, performing analysis to identify quality issues, providing feedback to appropriate stakeholders, preparing and implementing action plans to resolve problems and address risks, issues, and opportunities in a timely manner.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Support and follow product (hardware and software) development methodologies and life cycle.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance trainings on Continuous Improvement methodologies to staff at all levels.
  • Help to conduct workshops to senior leadership regarding best quality practices within the Organization.
  • Establishes alliances with other departments and organizations by recognizing dependencies in order to assess potential partnership and commitment to quality.  Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative interpersonal working relationships with others.
  • Continuously seeks to expand and improve personal knowledge in the area of Quality management best practices and assists in the development and promotes adoption of new processes or changes to existing processes within Boeing that continue to mature the program/project management discipline.
  • Communicates the quality processes to employees, as well as their role in these processes.   Ensures that the workgroup products and services meet the quality standards of customers and Boeing as well as the regulatory requirements.
  • This position will also provide periodic updates to senior management in the form of progress reports, project summaries, and other related documents.
  • This position will support initiatives of BIETC related to employee development, customer engagement, strategic relations, Government interactions, etc.
  • This position will require some travel within India and internationally.

Prior leadership experience of working with MNC Captives in establishing and maturing Quality processes from scratch in conjunction with US stake-holders as well as India teams. Critical to have taken an organization with rudimentary processes thru the complete CMMI journey as a practioner.

•Thorough experience on all SDLCs – Waterfall, RAD, Agile etc.
•Advanced/expert knowledge of the quality systems like International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001, 27001) and CMMI.
•Must have experience leading global organizations through quality certification and audit processes.
•Have a thorough knowledge of quality related metrics and processes for software products.
•Must have experience working with cross-functional teams spread across multiple products and locations and external partners, across different cultures and time-zones.
•Skilled in advising and mentoring staff members to meet quality goals or resolve technical or operational challenges.
•Ability to understand and communicate with technical experts over a wide range of technical topics.
•Ability to accomplish results through non-management employees who may or may not exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments.
•Must be results-driven and have a strong bottom-line orientation.
•Teamwork is important in this position; individual must have strong teambuilding skills.
•Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and leverage it to address complex issues.
•Communication – strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, Statements of Work, and connect technology to business considerations (e.g., ROI). Candidate must be fluent in English, and have expertise in using MS Office tools.
•Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.
•Must be able to mentor team members and partners to accomplish project and departmental goals and objectives.

15 years of experience with at least last 8 years as a Quality Leader (leading the Quality Function). Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Mathematics, or Engineering is required and Master’s degree is preferred. Experience working in a global organization is preferred.
