Job Details

Oklahoma Panhandle State University is seeking a Registrar that will provide overall leadership in the Office of the Registrar. The Registrar is responsible for all student academic record keeping - to include compiling, maintaining, and tracking student academic information and records for internal and external analysis and/or use. The registrar supervises and processes the articulation of transfer credits, certification of degrees, and production of official transcripts and diplomas.  Additionally, this role facilitates admission review, student academic progress, and attaching students to their classes in Ellucian Banner.

The Registrar supervises the Director of High School and Community Relations, Admissions Counselors, Assistant Director of Admissions, and Academic Records Clerk. They will also oversee the supervision of Admissions Clerk and Student Workers, as well as overall management of the Office of Registrar/Admissions and High School and Community Relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •   The Registrar is responsible for overseeing academic registration processes, creating semester schedules, examination schedules, and degree audit check lists.
  •   This position will also perform graduation audits, contribute to the compilation of University catalogs, and serve on University committees as assigned.
  •  In keeping with the University mission, the Registrar enforces the academic policies of the University, including adherence to FERPA guidelines, with accuracy, timeliness, and student-centered professionalism. 

Requirements

Education, Training, and Experience:

  •    Bachelors degree required, or Masters degree (preferred).
  •    Experience in higher education institution or educational background      preferred.
  •    Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to keep both the strategic picture and operational details at the forefront are essential.
  •    Candidates need experience with integrated student databases (Ellucian Banner knowledge preferred) and the ability to grasp new technology to improve services to students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  •    This position requires strong skills in organization, management, communication, and problem-solving with the ability to evaluate and assess policies and systems and to facilitate change in processes.
  •    Candidates must have the ability to lead with integrity and transparency, and possess a vision for strengthening service through the integration of best practices and ongoing staff training and development.
  •    Familiarity with undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs is required as is evidence of highly developed analytical, technical, and communication abilities. 
  •    Proficient computer skills required, including aptitude in MS Office Suite.
  •   Candidates should possess a strong belief in student-focused processes and procedures, along with a commitment to outstanding service, and an understanding of small college work environment.
  •    Must be able to think critically and respond proactively to meet the needs of the President’s Office.
