BASIC PURPOSE: The Retail Pricing Specialist will support the pricing initiatives that directly impact revenue and profitability across the Merchandising and Operations Departments. This individual will contribute to the vision, goal setting, implementation and delivery of future pricing and analytical functions.  This position also provides pricing insight to the Category Management Team to ensure consistent execution of Love’s pricing strategy with the goal of maximizing sales, profit or units.  Collaborate with Category Management in defining, forecasting and analyzing possible pricing actions.  The position requires becoming a subject matter expert in the pricing system.       

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work directly in the Revionics Base Pricing tool to manage all retail prices.
  • Work closely with buyers & category managers to understand, develop, and implement pricing & promotional strategies.
  • Analyze volume, revenue, and profit to create demand forecasting models to forecast merchandise sales.
  • Support split testing, or T-Testing, to accurately determine the best price.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of pricing rules or policies.
  • Create and present pricing projects to the Merchandising group as well as other cross-functional teams.
  • Perform various analyses to determine effectiveness of retail changes and promotions.
  • Use data visualization tool (Tableau) to design analytical dashboards for our Key Performance Indicators and develop data-driven recommendations.
  • Participate in and lead competitive price indexing initiatives.
  • Participate in field visits to understand internal and competitive pricing strategies and execution.
  • Lead future system integration projects as it pertains to pricing.
  • Support operational reporting needs.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:   

  • BS minimum, Masters preferred, in a relevant field, such as mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, management information systems, engineering or other quantitative fields.
  • 1 - 2 years’ experience preferred in retail, sales, marketing or operations with exposure to pricing systems and methodologies
  • Relevant work experience in retail.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles and issue resolution techniques.
  • Interest & understanding of the economic trends that affect the industry.

     

    SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Skills:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Detail oriented—must be able to notice errors and trends in large sets of data.
  • Ability to adapt, learn, and remain flexibly in a fast paced environment.
  • General understanding of database structure, ETLs, and data flows.
  • Ability to devise an analytical approach to solving business problems
  • General understanding of the retail business environment.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer driven, team player committed collaboration and strong working relationships.  

    Typical Physical Demands:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
  • Travel required as needed
