BASIC PURPOSE: As the SAP BASIS Solution Manager Expert, the candidate will be responsible for overall SAP Solution Manager Strategy roadmap and implementation timelines, to support the Love’s companies.  The candidate should be capable of managing and maintaining other systems that are part of the SAP landscape.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop project plans as necessary for upgrades, enhancements and new installations for Solution Manager patching and upgrades.
  • Capable of performing sizing and performance tuning evaluations and recommendations for Solution Manager and other system that he/she will be responsible for.
  • Ability to implement functionality required for the successful rollout of Solution Manager Processes and functionality as per standard SAP requirements.
  • Develop and mentor team and encourage other team members to use Solman for Technical Monitoring and root cause analysis.
  • Be an innovator for the team by keeping abreast of SAP technologies and development practices.
  • Create comprehensive plans top quarterly/yearly patching/Upgrades and for Client and System refreshes.
  • Contribute to the design, development, implementation and maintenance efforts of the BASIS team
  • Communicate project status to upper management and provide insight on any current and upcoming issues
  • Escalate issues to key management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers and business analyst to ensure project is on track and also to resolve issues and provide root cause analysis for defects.
  • Have Proactive attitude to maintain systems issue free.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business with MIS or technology related degree (C.S.)
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience as a Basis Administrator.
    • MUST have experienced with SAP Solution Manager setup, usage, and support.
    • MUST have experience in Solman 7.1 and upgrade experience to 7.2.
    • MUST have understanding of standard troubleshooting, including analyzing short dumps, system/application logs, and user/application tracing.
    • MUST have experience in system tuning.
    • MUST have experiencing implementing ITSM, ChaRM, Technical monitoring and Root Cause Analysis in 7.1 and 7.2 environments.
    • Will be a PLUS if candidate has implementation experience in Job scheduling management, and business process monitoring.
    • Ensures that information SAP Basis administration is a critical and high priority design requirement in all new IT initiatives, application or infrastructure related and provides SAP Basis and Database.
    • Experience in Kernel updates, support package application, plug-ins updates, landscape management, transports, printer setups and troubleshooting, etc.).
    • Understanding of High availability as well as disaster recovery strategies.
    • OSS notes research, message posting, Notes applying and forwarding SAP.
    • Experience installing and maintaining BOBJ, BODS, SAP Mobility, SAP Process Orchestration ( PI 7.4) is a plus
    • Experience integrating with cloud applications is a PLUS.
    • Work closely with the other Infrastructure team members to communicate clear requirements on what is required for BASIS from an infrastructure perspective.
    • Support Service Level Requirements.
    • Develop documentation and procedures
    • Strong focus on Customer commitment, work with least supervision and a Go-Getter attitude.

 

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Ability to manage numerous competing demands in an extremely high stress environment
    • Provide Root Cause Analysis
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to develop detailed technical design documents based on requirements
    • Ability to coordinate small developmental activities with a small team of developers
    • Extensive experience in Software development methodologies

 

  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
