OSU – Oklahoma City, located in the heart of Oklahoma City, is looking for Sign Language Interpreters
Job Summary:
Provide sign language interpretation for students who are deaf and hard of hearing. Class schedules may be subject to change with short notice during the semester including cancellation of services
Rate of Pay:

Requirements
Education:
High School/GED
Experience:
Preferred minimum of 3 month experience with academic support service systems for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
Certifications:
State QAST evaluation certification and/or RID Certification
Skills/Proficiencies/Knowledge:
Working knowledge of technical and academic signs appropriate to the university setting.
Ability to transliterate and interpret spoken English into American Sign Language, Manually Coded English as preferred by the client, and/or oral interpreting; ability to voice American Sign Language or Manually Coded English, into spoken English
Ability to provide translation service to allow communication between persons using different communication systems;
Ability to apply the interpreting Code of Ethics in the university setting.
