Description

Position Purpose

Provide configuration, implementation, optimization, and monitoring for all enterprise applications running in our production environments. Collaborate with QA, Development, and IT in configuring, implementing, testing and debugging the enterprise applications and systems. Resolve issues that affect software release scope, risk, and quality. Consult with testers, database administrators, and developers to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. Maybe expected to write documentation to describe program logic, operational procedures, and assist in coordinating change control.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and configure new application software and updates as required, including but not limited to web applications, web services, windows services and scheduled tasks.
  • Provide level II support for software releases and enterprise systems via both phones and/or in person.
  • Provide on-call support after hours and on weekends as required.
  • Create deployment plans to include backup and validation of software deployments to multiple environments.
  • Implement and configure software necessary to manage development life cycle, included but not limited to development requests, QA testing, approvals and release/deployment history.
  • Ensure accuracy of logs maintained for all implementation requests, troubleshooting steps, methods, and resolutions using service desk software.
  • Assist with debugging enterprise application issues to resolve problems in our test and production environments by reviewing errors and program code.
  • Coordinate between Operations, QA, IT, and Development for problems occurring in our software.
  • Plan schedule, implement, and monitor routine tasks required for daily business operations using third party applications.
  • Develop scripts to implement, update, and maintain all testing and production environments and to assist in monitoring and reporting on scheduled task output.
  • Maintain release repositories and build deployments based on documented procedures and approvals.
  • Continuously improve the implementation process by researching new technologies, software, tools, and methodologies.
  • Negotiate and plan release activities for any environment between Operations, QA, IT and Development.
  • Regular attendance as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

Bachelor Degree Computer Science/Information Technology or Bachelor Degree with 2 years related work experience

Knowledge of:

  • 1+ year experience configuring, implementing and troubleshooting enterprise applications in a networked environment
  • 1+ year experience configuring and troubleshooting enterprise databases in a client-server environment
  • 1+ year experience with relational databases such as MYSQL server, SQL server, ORACLE server and client server concepts
  • 1+ year experience with Microsoft Server Operating Systems such as Server 2008 and above
  • 1+ year experience with Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 7 Enterprise)
  • Extensive business and/or systems analysis skills
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams that may form and disband quickly
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and troubleshooting tools
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess the ability to learn and understand business processes and relationship of systems and applications used to accomplish those processes
  • Proficient, analytical, decisive, troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to write clear instructions for end users
  • Occasionally required to work overtime (nights and/or weekends)
  • Frequently sits and remains on the phone for extended periods.
