Job Description


Leads the creation of an architecture for multiple products, applications and/or systems in a domain.  Fits the domain solution architecture within the overall enterprise architecture and escalates issues that affect enterprise architecture.  Creates a high-level strategy and design view of the set of products in the domain solution portfolio.  Makes trade-offs across the solution portfolio and designs the architecture to accomplish cross-system objectives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives working with bright engineers across the organization.
  • Provide effective communication to business and technical community on behalf of the domain.
  • Works with product owners and development teams to define product and technology roadmaps for multiple customer facing Web sites.
  • Provide technical solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity.
  • Guides the successful completion of aspects of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
  • Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.


Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field of study and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • 9+ years of experience architecting large scale distributed Java based Web sites (some Portal experience preferred).
  • Excellent Java and object-oriented development skills.
  • Expertise with modern Web development practices and tools (e.g. Angular, HTML 5, SPA, react.js, Bootstrap, etc.).
  • Expertise with load and performance testing of Web solutions.
  • Expertise implementing SOA or Micro-services based architectures.
  • Expertise with migrating and consolidating multiple legacy Web applications into a modern Web environment.
  • Expertise working with product owners and development teams to define product and technology roadmaps for multiple customer facing Web sites.
  • Expertise with Web SSO technologies (e.g. SAML).
  • Expertise with Cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
