BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose of the Staff Accountant position is to analyze specific company activities including fleet and credit card fees, discounts, and chargeback expenses. Tasks include recording and reporting all appropriate journal entries and other duties at period close. The Staff Accountant is also responsible for the completion and analysis of work papers and special projects as assigned.



  • Make independent decision and recommendations regarding journal entries, reconciliations and work paper analysis.
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in developing enhancements to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department
  • Enhance efficiencies through independent analysis of auditing of control procedures
  • Identify and assess potential opportunities for improvement of current processes and risks
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for credit card and fleet card fees, discounts, and other related transactions
  • Prepare departmental KPIs and reports
  • Participate in designing, testing, and implementing of new reconciliation types within ReconNet in relation to GL Account impacts
  • Reconcile related balance sheet ledger accounts
  • Work with both internal and external partners to identify and resolve issues
  • Support and back up other team members as needed
  • Other duties assigned as needed




  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting


  • Experience:
    • 1-2 years relevant work experience



  • Skills:
  • Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong emphasis on Excel
  • Soft Skills: Strong oral and verbal communication skills; ability to perform and make decisions under pressure and strict deadlines; excellent time management skills; detail oriented; ability to multitask and be a team player
  • Experience with SAP is a plus


  • Typical Physical Demands:
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
