Job Description

The Boeing Global Services (BGS) Large Aircraft Spares Engineering department is seeking a highly-motivated Structural Design Engineer (Level 3) to work in a challenging and dynamic environment within BGS, Logistics Products & Services team located in Oklahoma City, OK.

Primary Responsibilities:
Your duties as an engineer will include (but are not limited to):

  • Part of a multi-disciplined team focused on providing legacy aircraft spares engineering support throughout the proposal phase as well as manufacturing execution, including part configuration, design changes and supplier related issues
  • Coordinate with various legacy programs within the Air Force umbrella to include B-1, B-52, E-3, and KC-135
  • Work to develop plans to solve long term spares related issues including alternative manufacturing methods (e.g. additive manufacturing) and provide design support and input on various spares projects
  • Engineering reach back to the prime organization, mechanical, structural, manufacturing engineering and systems engineering
  • Develop recommendations for supplier related issues and coordinate with Supplier Management
  • Implement design changes on spares configurations and new manufacturing processing
  • Develop and implement continuous improvements plans to provide more efficiencies in spares design and fabrication that provide value to Boeing and the customer
  • Develop and implement plans to improve supplier coordination to ensure compliance with the requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • Engineering experience
  • Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience using CATIA V4 and/or V5
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects and programs
  • Experience working in a cross functional environment


Work Authorization:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Typical Education/Experience:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and does not offer relocation assistance. If you do not currently reside in or near this location, you must be willing to relocate at your own expense.
