BASIC PURPOSE: The Supervisor of Information Security provides personnel supervision, project management, GRC support, and acts as an escalation point for Information Security staff. The Supervisor of Information Security is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Information Security GRC team. The GRC team monitors the threat landscape, prepares risk and vulnerability assessments, performs regulatory compliance reviews, creates process documentation, and otherwise contributes to the development and maintenance of a sound information security program.



  • Provide leadership and supervision to Information Security GRC staff
  • Facilitate and promote collaboration between teams, both internal and external
  • Manage all aspects of complex Information Security projects from inception through delivery
  • Assist in defining security programs and projects using a technical information security background
  • Oversee on-going development of information security architecture and process integration
  • Participate in general IT and Business projects as needed to support information security architecture and integration of security elements into solutions
  • Counsel teams on the management of residual risk based on product purchase or system design
  • Lead information security audit activities, including PCI assessments
  • Lead the information security risk assessment program
  • Research the threat landscape and conduct risk and vulnerability analyses on emerging risks to the organization, recommending remediation activities to management
  • Advise on information security policy
  • Ensure information security goals are risk-based and aligned with business objectives
  • Participate in the creation and upkeep of information security processes and documentation
  • Participate in and assist in coordinating activity for the corporate incident response program
  • Receive and respond to after hour communications as necessary
  • Other duties assigned as needed



  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Project Management experience required
    • CISA, CRISC, or CISSP strongly preferred; other security generalist certifications a plus
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience required
    • Minimum 7 years in Information Security strongly preferred
    • Strong history leading project teams and successfully implementing security processes and solutions
    • Experience with PCI compliance strongly preferred
    • Experience leading or participating in security incident response
    • Experience assessing risk and providing thought leadership to non-security project personnel
    • Knowledge and understanding of SDLC



  • Skills:
    • Excellent technical knowledge of IT infrastructure and application development
    • Good understanding of the Company’s goals and objectives
    • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
    • Ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating and budgets
    • Ability to conduct research into issues and products as required
    • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations
    • Demonstrated leadership and personnel management skills
    • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language
    • Highly self-motivated and directed
    • Keen attention to detail
    • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Strong customer service orientation; experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
