Job Description
Overview:
  • Boeing's Advanced Design and Prototyping Solutions (ADaPS) organization is seeking Software Engineers to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will become part of the ADaPS team and work in the Software Engineering area. The ADaPS organization supports a diverse portfolio of customers including Department of Defense, NASA, Homeland Security and Boeing Commercial Aircraft.
Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate's primary task will be developing systems engineering products, such as requirements and interface specifications, verification plans and reports, trade studies, analyses, etc., for manned spaceflight transportation, missile defense systems, or ground based rockets.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for activities including but not limited to systems architecture development, requirements/interface development, trade study execution, systems analyses, verification planning and closure, and modeling and simulation.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, and/or MATLAB/Simulink for systems modeling are desired.
  • Experience with aerospace control systems like missile guidance, navigation or control, thrust vectoring, GPS aided navigation, Kill vehicle algorithms or aircraft control surfaces are desired. 
  • The successful candidate may also perform trade studies, supplier and customer technical coordination, and project/program planning.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
  • This position requires the ability to independently develop and execute one or more technical planning and control activities to ensure program management has program status and decision data in place.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing quality products, have strong communication skills, and are capable of working in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple projects concurrently.
  • The candidate must be capable of working with geographically dispersed teams.

Assets:

  • Experience with life-cycle systems engineering principles is desired.
  • Experience with aerospace control systems like missile guidance, navigation or control, thrust vectoring, GPS aided navigation, Kill vehicle algorithms or aircraft control surfaces are desired. 
  • Experience in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS), MATLAB/Simulink, and/or Model-Based Systems Engineering is a plus.
  • Experience in software development is also a plus.

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 3:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
