Job Description:

This position teaches classes in the Early Care and Child Development program providing instruction to ECCD students insuring consistency between the theory, knowledge and skills taught in ECCD courses and best practices within the profession of early care. Exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, and ECCS program staff are required.

Rate of Pay: $650 per credit hour

Essential Job Duties:

  • Completes all mandatory training and participated in a minimum of two professional
    development each year. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 




MA in Child Development or related field preferred; 18 graduate hours in Child Development or related field required.





2 years lead teaching experience in early childhood setting (birth to five) preferred


2 years of one-to-one and/or group instruction experience preferred


Must demonstrate ability to give positive constructive feedback and a commitment to work in a team environment as well as a commitment to diversity, continuous improvement and the community college philosophy

Working Conditions: 




  • Normal office working environment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include some nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to work in an often busy and noisy environment.




Physical Requirements:




Duties require extended periods of sitting, standing, talking, listening and computer usage.
