(FT) DIGITAL SALES MANAGER

 

The Oklahoman Media Company is a multi-media company whose purpose is to help make Oklahoma a better place to live, work, and raise a family.  BigWing is our full service digital agency, which is the largest in the State of Oklahoma.  BigWing has a vacancy for a full-time Digital Sales Manager to drive sales across a full suite of digital solutions.  We are seeking candidates who have experience and skill in selling digital products and services, and building business plans to support their launch.  In addition to managing a small digital new business team, this position will also be responsible for the training of account executives to sell digital solutions to their clients.  This position must own the success of our local digital sales initiatives.  The ideal candidate must have experience in providing successful strategic direction; be very digital-centric, forward-thinking, have a high work ethic, and progressive, effective leadership to the sales teams as well as peers throughout the company.  Candidates must have a proven track record in successfully managing sales teams in meeting or exceeding sales goals.


Responsibilities:

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and engage a digital sales team while building relationships with other internal sales teams to foster collaboration and healthy competition.
  • Responsible for selling and training others to sell the value of traditional digital products and digital marketing services, including social media management, web development, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, etc.  
  • Meets & exceeds quarterly and annual revenue goals. Must have strong financial acumen.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all our digital products, platforms and services.
  • Demonstrates consultative sales skills in order to enable customers to drive their business and achieve their objectives through our products.
  • Leads the digital sales team in delivering valuable results to customers using a host of digital products and services.
  • Drives new business urgently by providing strategic direction and innovative solutions to increase revenue in the digital realm. 
  • Executes/implements solutions effectively, is analytical, and tracks results to ensure desired results. 
  • Must be a team player, collaborating effectively with various departments and the digital sales team to sell new products and solutions for our customers.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively, collaborate, coach, motivate, and engage direct reports and other sales teams within the organization.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading digital sales teams.
  • Excellent business development and negotiation skills.
  • Strong financial Acumen with attention to detail.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to implement strategies and deliver results. High work ethic with resilient state of mind.
  • Strong understanding of and familiarity with major social and digital platforms.
  • Must have experience selling the value of digital marketing services, including social media management, web development, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, etc.
  • Requires a strong knowledge of digital advertising revenue models (CPM, CPC, CPA).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Media industry sales experience preferred.
