Job Functions:

Assist the Program Director in developing the curriculum and training requirements to stay current on new medical practices and standards.  Assist Faculty, Clinical and Lab Instructor’s development and teaching.  Fulfill responsibilities as delegated by the program Medical Director.

 

 


 Rate of Pay: $1500 stipend per semester


Essential Job Functions:

Assist the Medical Director and Program Director with the following:

  1. Review and approve all educational content of the program and curriculum to certify its ongoing appropriateness and medical accuracy.

  2. Review and approve the quality of medical instruction, supervision and evaluation of the student in all areas including Classroom, Lab and Clinical

  3. Review and approve the progress of each student through direct interaction throughout the program.  Assist in the development of appropriate corrective measures when a student does not show adequate progress.

  4. Keep Director, Faculty, Staff and Curriculum up-to-date on modern medical concerns, and assist in establishing medical relationships with other clinical providers.

  5. Assure competence of each graduate of the program in cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains.

  6. Interact and provide input to Director regarding daily operations

  7. Review and approve all program applicants and graduates.

  8. Participate in monthly EMS Program meetings

  9. Chair EMS Program Academic Advisory Committee.

  10. Completes all mandatory trainings and participated in a minimum of two professional development each year.

  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

Must be a MD or DO

Minimum Work Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years experience as an Emergency Resident and or Physician.

  • Experience working with EMT’s and Paramedics in an Emergency Setting

 

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Be a physician licensed to practice medicine within the United States and be currently authorize to practice with the geographic area serviced by program, with experience and current knowledge of emergency care of acutely ill and injured patients. 

  • Must be a licensed physician in Oklahoma

  • Have adequate training and experience in the delivery of out-of-hospital emergency care including the proper care and transport of patients, medical direction and quality of improvement in out-of-hospital care.

  • Be an active member of the local medical community and participate in professional activities related to out-of-hospital care.

  • Be knowledgeable about education of the Emergency Medical Services Professional, including professional, legislative and regulatory issues regarding the education of Emergency Medical Services Professions.

Working Conditions:

Work is primarily performed in an office environment with a significant amount of contact in person, by telephone and via email.

 

Physical Requirements:

Duties  may require extended periods of sitting, standing, talking, listening, and computer usage.
Requires lifting up to 30 pounds (if an object weighs more than 45 pounds, OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift.)
