Speech-Language Pathologist, Psychological Clinician, Public Health Specialist, More

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is hiring for the following positions:

 

Speech-Language Pathologist I, II, III (Cleveland and Oklahoma County)

These positions provide Speech Language Pathology therapeutic evaluation, assessment and intervention services in to children age’s birth to three in homes and daycares.  Speech Language Pathologists demonstrate ways to enhance the child's development to parents and caregivers through ongoing therapy planning as well as providing resources to obtain medical, social, psychosocial services.

Requirements range from a master's degree in speech pathology, including academic and practicum requirements for certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, or certification plus an additional three years of post-certification experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a clinical specialty or in an educational setting.

 

Psychological Clinician (Cleveland County)

This position will perform advanced level psychological services including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions that impact functioning of children and families.

Requirements consist of a master’s degree in psychology, counseling,  human relations, clinical/direct practice social work, or a closely relate field which must have included one semester of at least three hundred hours of applied clinical practicum in psychology or counseling plus one-year post-master’s experience providing professional psychological services plus two additional years of qualifying experience and must have a passing score on the National Counselor Examination for Licensure and Certification or hold a current license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Behavior Practitioner (LBP) or as a Nationally Certified Psychologist (NCP); or a doctorate in psychology with a specialty in clinical, counseling, educational, developmental or school psychology, including one academic year of full time post-masters or pre-doctoral internship.  One year of professional experience under the direct supervision of a psychologist licensed in the major program of doctoral study may be substituted for the internship.

 

Public Health Specialist I, II, III (Bryan, Canadian, and Woodward County)

These positions are responsible for conducting inspections and investigations in food establishments, public bathing facilities, and motels/hotels to identify and eliminate conditions hazardous to life and well-being of the population.  This includes assisting and providing recommendations regarding corrective actions related to the hazards identified; Providing environmental health and food safety services, conducting inspections and investigations in lodging and food establishments to identify and eliminate conditions hazardous to the life and well-being of the population.  This includes preparing technical records and reports, implementing of hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), assisting and providing recommendations regarding corrective actions related to the hazards identified.

Requirements range from a bachelor’s degree with a major in public health, environmental health, environmental science, physical science, natural science, biological science, agricultural science, or equivalent, from an accredited college or university with at least thirty (30) semester hours of work in physical, natural and biological science, public health and/or environmental health or environmental protection or both environmental health and environmental protection, to a bachelors in the aforementioned fields PLUS 1 - 3 years of professional public health or consumer protection and successful completion of state standardization to conduct food establishment inspections; OR a master’s degree in a listed field and successful completion of state standardization to conduct food establishment inspections and 2 years of professional public health or consumer protection.

 

Registered Nurses (Statewide)

These positions monitor and assess the health status of individuals, families, and population as well as define a plan of care and provide nurse case management and health education in the areas of Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Tuberculosis, Women, Infants and Children, Immunizations, Adult Health and General Child Health.

Requirements consist of possession of a valid Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and one year of professional nursing experience.
