 Job Summary:


The Student Success & Opportunity Center is a center dedicated to providing quality tutoring services for students at OSU-OKC. SSOC tutors are certified through the National Tutoring Association training and tutor students in study skills and their specialized area(s) including:

• Math

• Writing

• Anatomy

• Biology

• Physics

• Chemistry

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Helping students with challenging concepts
  2. Providing feedback to instructors about where a student is struggling
  3. Enforcing sign-in and cell phone rules to create a safe, positive learning environment
  4. Listening to students who need someone to talk to
  5. Providing feedback to the director regarding issues or success stories
  6. Closing duties to protect facility and equipment
  7. Completes all mandatory training and participated in a minimum of two professional development each year.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Rate of Pay:

$8.50 per hour




Associate Degree or demonstrated expertise in field of study



  • Advanced knowledge of study skills and habits of successful students
  • Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Dependable
  • Organized
  • Detail oriented
  • Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU brand with positivity and professionalism
  • Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior



 Preferred Qualifications:

  • College Degree
  • Previous work in an education setting


Work Hours and Days:

 Monday thru Sunday, hours to vary


Environmental Conditions:

 The Center is a busy place and when assignments are due, tensions can be high among students.  However, it can be a good and enriching work environment when students are cooperative. 

Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone and via email.

Physical Demands:

Occasional light lifting

 Duties require extended periods of sitting, standing, talking, listening and computer usage
